All ten puppies have found permanent homes. There may be other puppies available from other breeders and there may possibly be an older dog available, so call Scott or Maria at 925-210-1212 for an update.
Only Dario remains of the ten puppies in Trader's Point's first litter and Nancy tells us she hopes to find him a special family who will help him learn to be a Service Dog. He has already entered training; his gentle nature and mellow disposition will be a real advantage. If you are that family, he is waiting for you! Call Nancy at 317-695-1182 for details.

Trader's Point Kennels, in Indianapolis, Indiana, is excited to announce their first litter of Transylvanian Hound puppies, to be born late this month! Their female Rommy was one of our first litter (born January 2013 and named Anika), which makes us puppy grandparents. Rommy recently won her Class and her Group at the FCI's Dog Show of the Americas in Puerto Rico. Her mate Ivo traveled to Puerto Rico from Transylvania for that event and then went on to his new home at Trader's Point afterwards, so we are doubly blessed! You can learn more about Ivo and his travels in the Posts below. Nancy and Bo Elder at Trader's Point expect a litter of eight puppies, three of whom have already been spoken for with cash deposits. Please contact them directly at 317 291-8100 or contact us for further information. Tommy, left, and Ivo at home on a snowy day in Indianapolis. Ultrasound photos of the puppies at about four weeks. Rommy doing what she loves best. Ivo learning about his new home in America.
FPF Heritage reports all their last litter have now found permanent homes.
SIX FEMALE AND TWO MALE PUPPIES were born in January to FPF Transylvanians. The litter was not planned, but Kristen's breeding pair managed to find a way to upset those plans! Email kristen solemn@gmail.com for details or call her at 530-559-0278.
These are the only U.S, born Transylvanian Hound puppies available at this time; California Transylvanians does not plan another litter until late 2015 at the earliest. Janos is now joining his siblings from the October 5, 2014 litter in their permanent homes. All eight puppies from this historic litter have now been placed with loving families!
NEWSFLASH and UPDATE!
Our rescue Kopó Ivo flew to the FCI International dog show in Puerto Rico from Budapest via New York last November. Even after all that travel, Ivo impressed the judges of the FCI with his looks, his manner and his conformity with breed standards. The FCI awarded Ivo his Breed Certification--in effect his pedigree. Ivo has now gone to live with Rommy, a female from our first litter, on a huge farm in Indiana that also raises longhorn cattle. We look forward to seeing their puppies sometime in 2016! Ivo's journey was not easy. When we rescued him in 2013 in Transylvania, he bore wounds from a wild boar, was extremely undernourished, badly housed in a small enclosure with three other dogs and faced a bleak future if he survived at all. Through the efforts of good friends in Transylvania, Hungary and the U.S., Ivo will now have a better, longer life. And he will join the ever-broadening gene pool of U.S. Transylvanian Hounds--so for Ivo, life will be much more interesting and much more fun! |
