NEWSFLASH and UPDATE!
Our rescue Kopó Ivo flew to the FCI International dog show in Puerto Rico from Budapest via New York last November. Even after all that travel, Ivo impressed the judges of the FCI with his looks, his manner and his conformity with breed standards. The FCI awarded Ivo his Breed Certification--in effect his pedigree. Ivo has now gone to live with Rommy, a female from our first litter, on a huge farm in Indiana that also raises longhorn cattle. We look forward to seeing their puppies sometime in 2016!
Ivo's journey was not easy. When we rescued him in 2013 in Transylvania, he bore wounds from a wild boar, was extremely undernourished, badly housed in a small enclosure with three other dogs and faced a bleak future if he survived at all. Through the efforts of good friends in Transylvania, Hungary and the U.S., Ivo will now have a better, longer life. And he will join the ever-broadening gene pool of U.S. Transylvanian Hounds--so for Ivo, life will be much more interesting and much more fun!
